Naturally Reared Scottish Beef
 |
We are suppliers of prime quality Highland beef, which is naturally reared on our own farm.
This beef comes from pedigree Highland cattle, Scotland's best known and oldest native breed. Slower growing than more modern, usually continental, beef cattle, this breed of cattle are allowed to mature for up to 30 months.
Why Highland beef?
Highland beef is outstanding for its flavour, tenderness and fine texture. Lean and low in cholesterol, without too much outer fat, it contains marbling, which gives it flavour in cooking.
What makes it so good?
The answer is a unique breed reared on grass using only home grown feed stuffs, plus excellent caring management.
The beef is hung in a chill for three to four weeks before cutting. This adds to the tenderness and reduces the level of shrinkage during cooking.
The farm is assured by 'Quality Meat Scotland' and conforms to the highest standards.
***We presently have for sale our pedigree Highland Bull, Seamus of Torrie, and a selection of pedigree Highland cows, some with calves at foot, as part of our herd reduction process. Please contact us for details.
